Offered here is an exquisite vintage gilt sterling and enamal sword and removable sheath chatelaine  brooch and matching earrings set. Ruby, amethyst and green colored rhinestone embelishments defintely make this an eye catching set! Sword can be worn in or out of the sheath and is connected by a double gilt chain. Earrings have red jelly belly cabochon embelishments  on miniature swords. Antique screw backings . The dagger pin or scimitar sword pin was designed by Murray Slater of Brooklyn, NY, for the Urie Mandle company.  Patent was applied for in 1946 and granted in 1947. Pictured in American Costume Jewelry book by Brunialti,pp. 239-40, citing Women's Wear Daily March 1946. Measures 4 1/4" Tall x 1 1/2" Wide at the hilt or handle. The sword when removed from the sheath is 1 1/2" wide x 3 3/4" long. The scabbard or sheath measures 2 1/2" Tall x 3/4" wide with out the curve. The earrings are 1 1/2" from top to bottom. Set is in excellent condition with slight tarnishing on earrings. One crystal rhinestone may have been replaced on the bottom of the sheath. Shipping insurance is strongly recommended.
